Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to the actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. She made her first appearances in television shows in the role of Jackie Harris, a character which was played by her mother in Roseanne, an ABC comedy Roseanne. Fearing stress, her parents didn't want to see the actress pursue acting until she reached the age of 18. Perry was shy during high school and did not act. The actress began her acting career at Northwestern University to gain friends when she moved from Boston University. Perry moved to New York, where she got small roles on shows such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Homesickness then caused Perry back to California, where theater jobs were available. Perry starred with her mother as part of The Other Place at Broadway, back in 2013. The show was directed by Eugene O'Neill. Pulitzer Prize winner Anna Christie as well as Kevin McKidd. This was performed in the West Los Angeles' Odyssey Theatre Ensemble. Perry was featured nine times on the ABC drama The Family, in 2016. Perry was a regular character in the ABC drama about politics Scandal which starred her father. The character she played was the younger Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off series of CBS's The Big Bang Theory was another younger portrayal of her mother. The role was selected through an audition, even the fact that she had a deep association with it.
